APPARATUS NUMBERS
In Jefferson County and neighboring counties, a four digit system of numbering is used to identify fire department and EMS apparatus. Each fire and EMS agency is designated with a two digit number (Herculaneum Fire Department is #63) and a third number is designated for the station where the apparatus is housed. The fourth number indicates the type of apparatus as follows:
1 = Pumper
2 = Ladder Truck or Aerial Apparatus
3 = Tanker
4 = Pumper/Rescue
5 = Pumper/Rescue/Ladder
6 = Rescue Vehicle
7 = Ambulance
8 = Brush Truck, and
9 = will indicate either a utility truck or specialized equipment.

6300 - FIRE CHIEF
6301 - ASSISTANT CHIEF
6302 - ASSISTANT CHIEF
