Since there are different fire protection districts and fire departments servicing various areas of Jefferson County and as fire knows no geographic boundaries, the urgent cooperation among such fire protection districts and fire departments to afford proper and efficient fire protection in any of these areas is extremely important.

Since in the nature of firefighting and other rescue activities, the incident may rapidly grow so large that cooperation among different fire protection districts and fire departments is of vital necessity to the public welfare, the Herculaneum Fire Department has written mutual aid agreements with the following Jefferson County Fire Districts and Fire Departments.

Dunklin Fire Protection District

Festus Fire Department

Goldman Fire Protection District

Hematite Fire Protection District

Jefferson R-7 Fire Protection District

Rock Community Fire Protection District

The Herculaneum Fire Department also has written mutual aid agreements with some fire protection districts and fire departments in St. Louis County, St. Genevieve County, Washington County, Franklin County and St. Francois County.
